“We’re excited to have taken this first step toward electrifying our entire C-Zone production fleet. In addition to the speed improvements tramming uphill, this BEV Boom Truck helps us reduce GHG emissions and health and safety hazards related to the exhaust produced by this unit’s diesel counterpart.”
Peter Prochotsky
Mine Manager, New Afton
ā€œI have been working with MacLean mobile mining equipment on the ancillary side for more than seven years now. Currently using the equipment in the DRC at the Barrick Kibali Gold Mine. The good thing about the MacLean equipment is that it just goes and goes, no major dramas and easy to maintain. The machines are tough and operator friendly, even in these parts of the world. In saying that when we do incur machine related issues the MacLean team down in South Africa does a stellar job on the after sales support. For a maintenance foreman that is what you are after when mining in remote parts of the world.ā€

ā€œFor the Edmonton LRT downtown tunnel project we had a specific, short-term need for specialty construction equipment when it came to shotcrete transportation and loading into our shotcrete sprayers, and the MacLean TM3 Transmixers fit the bill when it came to performance and the rental terms. The biggest proof point of that fact is that we never were on the phone to MacLean to deal with equipment issues. We also were impressed with the quality of printed and digital schematics.ā€

Equipment Supervisor – Trans Ed LRT
ā€œThree MacLean Medium Reach Rigs in our mining equipment fleet are the warriors against hang-up challenges that we face every day. These Secondary Breaking units were designed to eliminate ore flow blockages and release trapped reserves above the draw point brow safely and effectively and thus have helped us greatly in keeping the mine running for the past 15 years. MacLean’s John-Paul Theunissen and his team of service techs and customer support parts representatives have done excellent work in supporting these rigs over the years, based in large part on their branch location at the mine site, right here in Palabora.ā€

Superintendent Cave Operations, Underground Mining Operations
ā€œWorking alongside the MacLean team throughout the development of the Battery Electric GR8 Grader project has been an example of a perfect project partnership. Their professionalism and level of detail from researching operational and maintenance requirements on site and this following into the design choices and ability to effectively implement feedback is a testament to the hard work from all parts of their team. MacLean have not accepted the current industry design of graders as best practice and have actively engaged with on site personal to target problem areas in current grader designs and improve these in the GR8.

From a project management point of view, the team have been easy to work with and have set up systems to track and ensure deliverables are on time and to a high level of quality. Even with the time zones challenges between Canada and Australia there is never a delay in responses and progress of the project. MacLean have been receptive to aggressive timeline requests and have demonstrated an ability to pivot and review all aspects of the project when requested.

We look forward to a continued partnership with MacLean and watching the GR8 go from a concept into the design and validation phase to see the results of the hard work put in by the team.ā€

ā€œMacLean was able to provide a custom solution to assist with bolter productivity at our operation through reduced setup times. We appreciate MacLean’s contribution to this solution, followed by training, parts and support to make sure the bolter keeps performing. We are very satisfied with the aftermarket support.ā€
